Although it is not my main focus anymore, photography is the backbone that pushed me into the design field and is truly why I am a graphic designer today.

whats my story?
Hi! I'm Caitlin, born and raised in the midwest, jeep girl, and I guess pretty creative... In 2020 I got engaged to the amazing guy that I met right before covid came into the picture, and we got married in September of 2023. We have our fur babies, Bo and Zucci, and we all love going for walks, playing fetch, and cuddling. Other than school and work, I love traveling when I can, we camp as many weekends as we can every summer, and love spending time with our families!

Straight out of high school, I got accepted into my dream college in New York City, I was studying photography and loved every second of living in the big apple. This all came to a halt in March of 2020 when the pandemic took over our lives, I moved back home and dreaded "Zoom University." Fast forward to the fall of 2020, I enrolled at the University of Minnesota, where I am currently in my final semester of the Graphic Design program. I am on track to graduate in December of 2023 with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in UX Design. Although I left photography behind in New York academically, it is still a big passion in my life and I feel like it is important to include it in my portfolio!

So what is my plan? Honestly, I'm not sure yet, I have had two internships and am currently freelancing for one of them. For now, I am taking things one step at a time, enjoying where I am right now, and continuously being thankful for all of the amazing people that have helped me along my way.

Originally a single pasta box package project, this brand has been expanded and elevated. The labels have been reworked to depict a higher end food line, with the expansion of sauces and different pasta boxes. This premium food line features a unique box with sustainability in mind, leaving the customer a chance to refill their product as needed.

At the Greenspring Media office in Bloomington, MN, I immersed myself in the world of publishing, collaborating with the design team on tasks like marketing materials, sales sheets, magazine layouts, and logo design. My part-time role fostered adaptability, as I jumped into various project stages. This experience also sharpened my InDesign skills.
